System Administrator - Compensation: Based on experience in San Antonio, Colorado

 
 System Administrator will be responsible for building, troubleshooting, backing up, restoring and maintaining (Windows, Solaris, and Linux) in a virtual environment.  Typical tasks can include migrating physical to virtual and virtual to virtual (VMware) machines and ongoing VM management; working with Informix, Oracle and SQL Server databases; monitoring disk space, CPU, network connectivity, firewalls, and VPNs; maintaining production Internet and Intranet web sites including responding to outages and helping with deploying code updates; working with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) to deploy Windows operating system and application patches and updates and similar Unix patching; Checkpoint NGX and later firewall management; maintaining Symantec Enterprise Security Manager (ESM), and client communication and updates with both PCs and Servers to insure corporate security compliance.
Requires working closely with government IA security, operations and development.
 
Skills
Experience building servers in physical, blade and virtual environments
Knowledge of ITIL processes and experience with ticket tracking software, specifically Remedy
Proven skills with Linux operating systems (Linux Enterprise Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
Proven troubleshooting skills
Experience supporting remote locations is critical
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with internal/external customers, vendors, management etc. in both formal and informal situations
Strong knowledge of Active Directory concepts (i.e. Roles of Domain Controllers, DNS, DFS, WINS, GPO, etc.)
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating systems (Server xxxx/xxxx/xxxx).
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows security (Firewalls, IPsec, ACLs, Authentication, etc.)
Familiar with the Windows registry, ODBC, IIS and other methods used for application hosting and connectivity
Familiar with VMware
Solid understanding of TCP/IP and port configurations.
Knowledge of security as it applies Web, Application and Database servers
Understanding of factors governing reliability and performance of Datacenter services (LAN and WAN-centric)
Demonstrates strong technical and analytical skills
Pays attention to technical detail and focus on quality of service
Willingness to take responsibility and handle multiple tasks
Team-player with good inter-personal and communication skills
 
Requirements
·        Have or able to obtain a successful ADP II Public Trust Investigation adjudication
·        AA/AS Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field/equivalent experience
·        5+ years of experience with system administration
·        Have or able to obtain requisite DoD xxxx certifications
